What is citrobacter?
A genus closely resembling Salmonella, including citrate positivity, but unlike salmonella, it is ONPG positive.
What is Edwarsiella?
A great mimicker of Salmonella and E. coli d/t similar biochem rxns. Unlike E. coli though, it produces H2S. Unlike salmonella, it is pos for indole. It also tends to infect folks with iron overload and coinfect with E. histolytica. It doesn't ferment anything, so is colorless on MacConkey and EMB agar.
