Memes are a very intricate and delicate topic.

You cannot make a meme without having input on the subject, or knowing the ins and outs of the topic you are trying to make a meme on, because certain topics might have delicate areas socially, with effects on society and their outlook on their lives, or society as it is currently. Basically, be wary when developing the meme itself and take the consent of others around you while conjuring up your joke.

Don't forget that memes range from many topics. From Spongebob, to Unlucky Brian, you have a variety of things to choose from. Try picking a picture that hasn't been used before, or isn't used as frequently. Also, remember to take all critique on your very first meme, there are many quality memers who can help you in your new job as a memer.

Now, all you have to do is pick an actual meme to base it all off of, and the phrasing as well. Phrases range from "one does not simply...." to "It's all OGER now". The phrases should fit the picture that you have chosen, and the phrase must also be creative, and cannot have been used before.

Just remember that memes don't need that much input. You don't have to make a phrase that has never been used before, or jokes that are the "newest trend". A meme could just be another one does not simply, or an unlucky Brian.

This is a meme made by me, renaming all of the Smash characters with the name "Marth", because I play Fire Emblem a lot, and a lot of the cast can be renamed with Marth in a creative way.

This is one of the bigger memes, made combining Nigel Thornberry with the infamous Magikarp. Nigel Thornberry tends to say "Smashing" a lot, and Magikarp only knows the move Splash, so you can see how this was made.

Also, don't forget to make your meme short and sweet. If it's too long, no one will read it. If it's too short, people will not remember it, because of how simplistic your meme was. Remember to stay around the marigin of 1-2 sentences. If you go over, it's fine, but if your picture isn't appealing to the eyes, it's all ogre.

Funnily enough, a lot of memes long to try to develop a plot, because of this, the meme dies down instantly. Look at memes in a graphic novel format, with more writing because of how much space you have to actually fit. The story is actually pretty good, but it's way too long for someone that is just scrolling through images.
