-Continued to believe in supernatrual causes due to religion.
-Theory of blocked Channels due to way of life as living near the river Nile. As when irrigation channels were blocked,crops would die so the same was applied to humans.

-Bad air 'miasma' idea introduced as people believed there was something bad in the air which made you ill.
