Suffixes

Word root

Basic foundation of a word to which componets parts are added. Also called stem or base of a word.

Combining form

Created when a word root is combined with a vowel. Which is usually an "o" but occasionally an "i".

Suffix

Word element attached at the end of the word root. Adding a suffix to a word changes the meaning.

Prefix

Is a word element added at the beginning of a word.

Compound word

A term that comprises multiple word roots(or combining forms) and a suffix
