Polysemy
Multiple meanings for the same word. Creates ambiguity. Relationships frame the meaning of talk. Every form of coms including N.V. can have multi meanings and the msg receiver must determine which meaning to assign based on the the frame in which the conversation is taking place.
Denotative vs. Connotative
Denotative = definition of word or ID by pointing at.

Connotative = overtones, implications or associated meanings with a word/object
denotative coms occurs as an action, not interaction.

connotative coms involves how the word makes one feel. Extra layers on top of the denotative meaning. More personal and complex the better you know someone.
