UPR (LWR) YAW DAMP switches

FAIL
-------
OFF
yaw damper provides turn coordination and dutch roll damping. Operates continuously except autoland, localizer track and flare, and engine out

FAIL - associate channel has failed
OFF - channel selected off manually
FLAP LIMIT System

A- function
B- MANUAL light
A - active when Speed >175 kts/ Flaps >22 deg, flaps will auto-retract. Flaps return to selected position when speed reduced

B - failure of both channels of the auto flap limit system or selector not in AUTO. manual override available with AUTO/OVRD selector.
ELEV FEEL System

A- function
B- MANUAL light
C - Selector HI/LO
A - provides simulated feel of aerodynamic loads as a function of airspeed

B - MANUAL - both channels of elev feel system failed or selector not in AUTO

C - slews ELF to correspond to an airspeed on the SD config page when system in manual (PULLED)
LSAS Functions (6)

Longitudinal Stability Augmentation System
1- Pitch Attitude Hold and Auto Pitch Trim (<30 deg bank to -10 deg pitch) -
holds current attitude by deflecting ailerons up to 5 deg. Stab trimmed for
sustained deflection.
2- Pitch Attitude Limiting - keeps pitch <30 deg NU to <10 deg ND
3- Pitch Rate Damping - reduce change of pitch overcontrol (100% avail over
20,000 ft, 30% avail below 16,500 ft
4- Pitch Att Protection and Positive Nose Lowering - PAP takeoff to help
prevent tailstrike, PNL landing after spoilers
5- Speed Protection - provide stall or overspeed protection with pitch (A/P OFF,
with or without ATS)
6- Stall Protection - at 75-85% of shaker activation, LSAS reduces pitch
LSAS OFF when? (4 times)
1- Autopilot ON
2- Below 100' RA - except PAP and PNL
3- Bank >30 deg
4- Manual Trim
LSAS can be overridden by...
> 2 lbs control wheel force - <1500 ft

10-15 lbs force - PAP or PNL active

>50 lbs force - Overspeed or stall
Parallel Rudder Operation

A- why
B - conditions
A- for thrust asymmetry
B- Autopilot ON
Full rudder authority (23 deg)
Rudder feedback
Bank limited to 10 deg
Auto Slat extension when?
Outboard slats extend at STICK SHAKER

(inhibited >280/.55M)
What are Deflected Ailerons?
Ailerons automatically deflected for greater performance

Takeoff - Inboard 11.5 deg
- Outboard 15 deg

Other times - Inboard 0 deg
- Outboard 4 deg
The Horizontal Stab is trimmed by:
Autopilot
LSAS (1 motor, 1/2 speed)
Control Wheel Switches (electric, both motors)
Long. Trim Handles (Hydraulic)
