Element





The basic building block of matter; cannot be broken down to a simpler substance, it consists of atoms of only 1 type.

Atom

The smallest particle of an element that has the chemical properties of that element. These are the building blocks of matter.

Mass

The amount of matter in a substance. You can measure mass using a balance. This is not to be confused w/weight.

Density

A measurement of how solid something is, specifically it is the mass per unit volume of a substance. (D=m/v)

Volume

The amount of space an object takes up.
