Matter
Matter is anything that takes up space.
Volume
Volume is how much space an object takes up.
Mass
Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object.
Property
A property is a characteristic of something, like the way something looks, feels, sounds, tastes or smells.
Elements
Elements are the building blocks of matter. There are over100 elements and some of the most well known ones are: hydrogen, copper, oxygen, carbon and helium.
Standard Unit
A Standard Unit is a unit of measurement that people agree on, like feet for length or pounds for weight.
Particles
Matter is made up of tiny particles. In an object with more MASS the particles are packed closer together than in and object with less Mass.
Gravity
Gravity is a pullin force that holds you on Earth.
Weight
Weight is the measurement of how much gravity pulls down on you.
Solid
A solid is matter that takes up a definite, or certain amount of space. A solid has its own shape.
Liquid
A liquid is matterthat has a definite volume but not a definite shape. A liquid takes the shape of whatever it is placed in.
Gas
A Gas is matter that has no definite volume or shape. Think of helium in a balloon or oxygen in the air.
