In what order do you put a gradient?
Y/X
X/Y or Y/X?
How do you find a gradient?
Place a 'placeholder' where the two y-axis and x-axis meet. Count up how much the y-axis goes, and put that on the top of a fraction. Do the same for the x-axis.
The answer is explained in a very complicated way, but in actuality, it is quite simple.
How can you tell if a gradient is supposed to be negative?
If the gradient is going down (from right to left), then it is negative. If it goes up, then it is positive.
Always 'read' a gradient from right to left.
If a line goes 4 spaces down, then 16 spaces over, what is the gradient of that line?
-4/16 or -1/4.
Just 'read' the gradient from left to right. If it helps, draw it out.`
