Algebraic equations
A mathematical expression that contains at least one variable
Linear equation
Linear Equation is an Equation of the form Ax + By = C, where A ≠ 0 and B ≠ 0. The Graph of a linear Equation is a straight line.
Commutative property
Commutative Property of Addition states that changing the Order of addends does not change the sum. That is, a + b = b + a.

Commutative Property of Multiplication states that changing the Order of factors does not change the product. That is, a × b = b × a
Associative property
The associative property of Addition says that when we add More than two numbers the grouping of the addends does not change the sum;
The associative property of Multiplication says that when we multiply More than two numbers the grouping of the factors does not change the product.
Distributive property
states that the Product of a number and a sum is equal to the sum of the individual products of the addends and the number.
That is, a(b + c) = ab + ac.
Variable
A symbol used to represent an equation
Inverse operations
operations that undo each other. Subtraction and addition or multiplication and division
Algebraic equations
a mathematical sentence that shows that two exoressions are equal
Solve
To fins an answer or solution
Evaluate
To find the value of a numerical expression
Simplify
To write an expression in the simplest form
Solution
The value of a variable that makes a sentence true
Term
parts of an expression that are added or subtracted
Like terms
Two or more terms that have the same variable raised to the same power
Coefficient
The Coefficient of a term in an Expression is the number which is multiplied by one or More variables or powers of variables in the term.
5x – 3: Here 5 is the Coefficient of the linear term 5x.
