What are the steps for dividing a polynomial by a binomial?
|
1) Divide the first number of the dividend by the first number of the divisor.
2) Multiply the divisor by the quotient just obtained. 3) Subtract like normal. 4) Divide the first number of the difference by the first number of the divisor. 5) Multiply the divisor by the second digit of the quotient. 6) Repeat until the exponent of the remainder is less than the exponent of the divisor. |
