Plot development
sequence of events in a work defined by characters and conflict
Exposition
introduces the setting, the characgers and the basic situation
Exciting Force
the event which sets the action in motion and begins the conflict
Rising Action
the confict runs its course and intensifies
Falling Action
after the climax when conflict is resolved and suspense decreases.
Resolution
the conflict is ended
Denouement
the subsequent resolution of minor conflicts; the tying up of loose ends.
Solilquy
a long speech made by a character who is alone and who thus reveals his/her private thoughts and feelings to the audience
