A major character in literature is character that plays a large role in the story, but is not the main character.
minor character
people in a story who are not the main point of the story (for instance, not the person who the story is happening TO), but still interact with or grab the attention of those main characters.
plot diagram
a map of a story's structure, esp. the plot and sequence of events surrounding the main character(s)
flat character
A flat character is a minor character in a work of fiction who does not undergo substantial change or growth in the course of a story.
round character
a major character in a work of fiction who encounters conflict and is changed by it. Round characters tend to be more fully developed and described than flat, or static, characters.
