Protaginist- main character
Antagonist- a character or force that acts against the protagonist
Motive- reason, a character's action
Plot
- Plan of a story, event, a problem or conflict, story is about, beggining to end
Literary Devices
Supense- uncertainly that keeps you interested
Foreshadowing- hints or clues with what will happen in the story

Development of Plot

Point of View
How a story is told, some stories are told in the first person using "I", other told in third person, using "he" or "she" to tell the story

the way the author uses words. chooses words carefully and constructs sentences so they give life to the story. Figurative language, imagery, exaggeration
Tone
Tone creates the feeling that a story is funny, scary, optimisticm, or exciting.
SETTING
Time and place in which the action occurs. In other stories, the setting is one that involves the reader in understanding the time and place in which the story takes place. the story could not happen in any other setting. (historical fiction)
