AFFECT
The fluctuating outward signs of emotion, not the emotion itself.
RESTRICTED AFFECT
Slight reduction in range and intensity of emotional expression.
BLUNTED AFFECT
Marked reduction in the intensity of emotional expression.
FLAT AFFECT
Absence or near absence of affect.
INAPPROPRIATE AFFECT
Does not fit the situation.
LABILE AFFECT
Abnormal variability and &"swings"; in affect.
AGITATION
Motor activity associated with feelings of inner tension.
AGONIST MEDICATION
Produces effect on the CNS. All substances of abuse are agonist.
ANTAGONIST MEDICATION
No direct effect on CNS, and prevents some other substances from producing an effect.

ATTENTION
Ability to focus.
AVOLITION
Inability to initiate or persist in goal-directed activities.
CATALEPSY
Waxy flexibility, rigid maintenance of a body position over an extended period.
CATAPLEXY
"Swooning" collapsing often associated with intense emotions.
CATATONIC BEHAVIOR--CATALEPSY

Parrot like senseless repetition of a word just spoken by another.
