One of Li Bai's most famous poems is Drinking Alone under the Moon (月下獨酌, pinyin Yuè Xià Dú Zhuó), which is a good example of some of the most famous aspects of his poetry -- a very spontaneous poem, full of natural imagery and anthropomorphism:

花間一壺酒。 (花间一壶酒)
Huā jiān gān; jiàn yī hú jiǔ. Amongst the flowers is a pot of wine;
獨酌無相親。 (独酌无相亲)
Dúzhuó wú; mó xiāngqīn. -- I pour alone but with no friend at hand;
舉杯邀明月。(举杯邀明月)
Jǔbēi yāo míngyuè. -- So I lift the cup to invite the shining moon;
對影成三人。 (对影成三人)
Duì yǐng chéng sān rén. -- Along with my shadow, a fellowship of three.
月既不解飲。(月既不解饮)
Yuè jì bùjiě yǐn; yìn. -- The moon understands not the art of drinking;
影徒隨我身。 (影徒随我身)
Yǐng tú suí wǒ shēn. -- The shadow gingerly follows my movements;
暫伴月將影。 (暂伴月将影)
Zàn bàn yuè jiāng; jiàng; qiāng yǐng. -- Still I make the moon and the shadow my company;
行樂須及春。 (行乐须及春)
Xínglè xū jí chūn. -- To enjoy the springtime before too late.
我歌月徘徊。 (我歌月徘徊)
Wǒ gē yuè páihuái. -- The moon lingers while I am singing;
我舞影零亂。 (我舞影零乱)
Wǒ wǔ yǐng língluàn. -- The shadow scatters while I am dancing;
醒時同交歡。 (醒时同交欢)
Xǐng shí tóng; tòng jiāohuān. -- We share the cheers of delight when sober;
醉後各分散。 (醉后各分散)
Zuì hòu gè; gě fēnsàn. -- We separate our ways after getting drunk;
永結無情遊。(永结无情遊)
Yǒng jié; jiē wúqíng yóu. -- Forever will we keep this unfettered friendship;
相期邈雲漢。 (相期邈云汉)
Xiāngqī miǎo Yúnhàn. -- Til we meet again far in the Milky Way.
