commands (lesson 1)
A button on the ribbon used to complete a task, such as choosing Font, Alignment, Number, and Style. Buttons are arranged on command tabs in groups of simliar task.
desktop
The first windoew that appears on the computer screen after a user has logged on. The dasektop can be personalized to help the user easily move between applications and files.
Dialog Box
A window that contains options to change current settings.
Dialog Box Launcher
Button in the lower-right corner of a group that allows the user to change settings
Ellipsis points
Three periods following a menu item that indicate a dialogbox will open.
groups
A clulster of commad button that are Displayed once a tab is selected. Also, a command that allows graphics to become one object and behave as a single object.
mini Toolbar
A context-sensitive toolbar that appears when text or data is selected.
Office Button
A button in the upper-left corner of an application window or dialog box that containscommands related to whole document such as open, save, and print commands.
Quick Access toolbar
A customizeable tollbar that provides a set of frequently used commmands independent of the tab that is open.
Ribbon
An area located below the Title bar, which contains a band of tabs and commands used to complete tasks.
ScreenTips
small windows that display descriptive information when the mouse pointer is positined on a command or control.
Shortcut Menu
Displays command sneeded while preforming tasks. Shortcut options vary, depending on where tha mouse is pointing and what task is being preformed.
Start button
A button tat displays menu options to start programs on the computer and work with computer settings.
Status bar
An area that displays information about the current document at the bottom of a program window.
Taskbar
The desktop toolbar that appears a the bottom of the Windows screen and is used to change between open applications and documents.
Title bar
The shaded area at the top of a dialog box or application window trhat displays the title of the box, or the name of the file, and the application.
Window control buttons
Located in the title bar, these buttons control the way a program behaves
Zoom
Feature used to magnify (zoom in) or reduce (zoom out) the size of the document on screen.

a freature that lets you reverse an action.
