What is Civil Law, Define and provide an example
Is concered with cases in which there is a dispute between two private individuals. The couts hear the cases to determine the rights of individuals and to settle the dispute.
Example : Breaking of a contract, Divorce, Damage to property which is not yours.
What is Criminal Law, Define and provide an example
Is law concerned with cases in which a person has commited an offence against the well being of the community.
example - Manslaughter, Rape, Drunk Driving, Robbery.
What is a summary offence?
These are offences that are not that serious.
eg. Speeding
What is a Indictable offence?
This is a more serious offence than a summary offennce and can often be reguarding Murder or assult etc.
