What does CIR stand for?

What is a Credit Interpretation Request?
A process where a design team can request a decision from USGBC when the Reference Guide does not sufficiently address a specific issue.
CIR process has 3 steps.. they are..
1. Review CIR web page for previously posted CIRs and USGBC response.
2. Submit on-line request.
3. USGBC issues a ruling electronically (on line or email).
