There are three strategies avaiable to receive points wihin the Innovation in Design credit category:

1-to exceed a credit’s available requirements and is referred to as exemplary performance, where the general rule is that the ID requirements meet the next incremental increase or double if incremental levels do not exist.
2-to address a sustainable topic not covered in the LEED Rating System, and this is referred to as innovative performance
3-to attempt one of the credits available in the Pilot Credit Library

• The intent of the proposed innovation credit
• The proposed requirement for compliance
• The proposed submittals to demonstrate compliance
• The design approach (strategies) used to meet the requirements

Each Regional Priority credit is based on (4):

3-If achieved, worth an additional 1 point.
4-A total of 4 additional points may be earned from the pool of 6 Regional Priority credits.
