What is the diencephalon? |
The diencephalon consists of a dorsal thalamus that processes sensory information and relays it tothe cerebral cortex and a ventral hypothalamus that is a major visceral motor center, the "headganglion" of the autonomic nervous system. |

What is the thalamic adhesion? |
The section of grey matter between the right and left thalamus. |

Where does the reticular nucleus of the thalamus project? |
The reticular nucleus projects only within the thalamus and not the cortex. |

What is the Hypothalamus? |
Most hypothalamic function is directed toward regulation of the autonomic nervous system and hormone relies from the pituitary. |

What is the internal capsule? |
The most prominent white matter tract of the diencephalon. The corona radiata is the manifestation of the internal capsule. Both ascending and descending axons running through it. |
