Administrative Law
A type of public law that pertains to governing the legal relationship between persons and the government, which includes the agencies, departments, and boards which the government encompasses.
Bylaws
Laws created by a municipal government of a city or town, which is lower than the provincial and federal legislature. Generally, Bylaws deal with local issues and problems, and are passed through the municipal governments.
Civil/Private Law
Based on either a more Roman or British common law values, civil law, or private law, in Canada is based off of British law, and is the area in which private rights, and law regarding the relationship between civilian's and other civilian's is based.
Constitutional Law
The core of public law from which most other law is built upon. Constitutional law is deals with the Constitution and the powers that are given to the government and those entrusted to the people, Con. law also sets up legal principles from which to standardize legal proceedings.
Contract Law
A extension of Private law that provides the guidelines and rules in regards to how agreements or contracts between people and/or businesses when they purchase or provide goods as well services and favours.
Criminal Law
The area of public law that deals with punishments and prohibitions on behaviour that injures or harms society, property and people.
Distinguishing a case
A decision made by the leading judge in a case, in which the judge spurns all previous similar decisions and precedents, instead creating a new benchmark.
Domestic Law
Law dealing exclusively with inside a nation.

i.e, Canada's criminal code only applies within it's own boundaries and borders.
International Law
Law regarding legal relationships with other nations on how they represent each other on an international level.
Jurisdiction Law
A jurisdiction is based on the legal or political dominion to make, recreate, and enforce existing laws through the passing of bills. Also refers to judicial power and authority to decide a case.
Procedural Law
The legal method of enforcing certain rights, responsibilities, and duties inherent in civilian substantive law.
Property Law
Laws dealing with the governing of ownership and inheritance rights of physical property.
Public Law
Substantive law under the public domain. Public Law manages the relationship between governments and civilians.
Staute Law
Laws passed through legislation by governments.
Substantive Law
Law to do with the obligations and duties of a civilian in relation to the legal system
Tort Law
Law dealing in regards too reparations for injury and harm caused to people or property.
