Pressure for operation of the gear is supplied by what system?
supplied by the utilitiy system
Normal operation of the gear requires about how many seconds for extension or retraction?
requires about 10 to 15 seconds
The landing gear warning lights iluminate under the following conditions:
any landing gear is unlocked (regardless of lever position), any gear is not in the position indicated by the lever, any gear is up and locked, and any throttle is retarded near idle.
Landing Gear lever in the UP position does the following:
mechanically positions landing gear selector valve to open, raise gear, and close doors in retraction sequence. Provides hydraulic pressure to air refueling alternate system from the nose gear retract pressure line.
Landing Gear lever in the OFF position does the following:
mechanically positions landing gear selector valve to block pressure in the up and down lines, and to depressurize the landing gear systems. Normal flight position.
The landing gear warning horn sounds if:
any landing gear is not down and locked, flaps are not full up, and any throttle lever is retarded near idle.
If the HORN CUTOUT lever is cycled to silence the horn, it will not sound again unless:
unless any throttle is pulled back to near idle from some higher setting.
Landing gear LOCK OVERRIDE trigger:
when pulled, overrides landing gear lever solenoid lock and allows gear retraction. Prevents raising landing gear until either main landing gear strut is extended and both trucks have been leveled after takeoff.
