The Community Liaison Team is a 3 tiered effort:

The Community Liaison Team will provide for a degree of control and guidance over the implementation of our new "________________" community and PR efforts.

Each division will have a designated Liaison Officer (B/C). These B/C’s will be the coordination point for the Batt Liaison Officers (____________), regardless of platoon assignment, in their respective division.
Captains
Each Batt will have a designated Liaison Officer on each platoon. This member will act as the Batt Coordinator for Community and PR. It is intended for this officer to coordinate with Company Officers in meeting the particular Community and PR needs of each district and the Batt. The Lawn Officer will also function as an information "_________________” for information to and from the community.
Control Point
The Liaison Team is completed with members from the FPB and other DEPT resources. The FPB component will include an Inspector from whichever FPB Districts are affected in a Fire Stations District. Similarly, the EMS District Captain for that Batt will also be represented.

______________ approval is required for:
• Outside request for Ride Alongs. (Apparatus for Homecoming, Ride-On's, etc., Fire Chief approval not required)
• Commercial use of FS or apparatus use.
• Requests for the Fire Chief to appear in person (notify Captain in the Community Service Unit or CLO).
Fire Chief
_______________ or__________ approval is required for:
• Requests for companies to be placed out-of-service CAV when OCD is unable to approve.
• RA’s CAV at events. The responsible B/C and EMS District Captain shall also be notified by telephone.
NOTE: RA’s shall normally remain available during community events.

• Process and personally contact the requester, acknowledging receipt of all requests that are forwarded to the Batt Office within ____________, of receipt of request, regardless of shift responsibility.

Upon receiving notification of an upcoming community event, the ____________ shall:
• Verify the first-in district of the event.
• Identify the possible levels of FD commitment to the event.
• Determine the number of resources necessary to attend, i.e., number of companies, specialized staff members and/or chief officers.
• Check the Batt and FS calendar for conflicts in scheduling of resources.
• If the FS can handle the event, notify the B/C of the event (if needed), and coordinate event with the assistance of the Battalion Liaison Officer (if necessary). If the FS requires additional assistance, confer with the Battalion Liaison Officer.
• Contact the CLO or the Community Service Unit telephonically for requests that require the Fire Chief's attendance.
• Submit summary of event to the Battalion Liaison Officer.
