A grid of rows and columns in which you enter text, numbers, and the results of calculations.
Worsksheet
A computerized spreadsheet.
Workbook
The file used to store worksheets.
Sheet Tab
What contains the name of each worksheet appears on this at the bottom of the worksheet window.
Active Worksheets
The worksheet that is displayed in the work area.
Columns
Appear vertically and are identified by letter at the top of the worksheets window.
Rows
Appear horizontally and are indentified by numbers on the left side of the worksheet window.
Cell
The intersection of a row and a column.
Cell Referance
Which is formed by combining a cell's column letter and row number.
Active Cell
A cell in the worksheet in which you can type data.
Name Box
Is located below the ribbon, and displays the cell referance of the active cell.
Formula Bar
Appears to the right of the name box and displays the formula when the cell of a worksheet contains a calculated value.
Formula
An equation that calculates a new value from vaules currently in a worksheet.
Range
A group of selected cells.
Adjacent Range
All cells touch each other and form a rectangle.
Range Referance
Lists both the cell in its upper-left corner and the cell in its lower-right conrner, seperated by a colon.
Nonadjacent Range
Includes two or more adjacent ranges and selected cells.
Portrait Orientation
A page turned so that its shorter side is at top.
Landscape Orientation
A page turned so that its longer side is at top.
