How old something is, how many years it has.
American Revolution
The war between the United States colonies and Britain where the US won independance.
Amendment
A change or addition to the United States Constitution
Absolute Monarchy
A goverment where a monarch, like a king or queen, has total power.
Allied Powers
Countries that fought the Axis powers during World War II. Included US, England, and Russia.
Arsenal
A collection of weapons to use against another person or country.
ally
Countries, or people, who agree to support and help each other.
abolitionist
A person who opposes slavery and wants to abolish it.
appointed
being chosen for a position or job by another person.
Average
Normal, median.
assassinate
To murder someone because you are paid money to kill them, or for political reasons.
aggressor
The aggressive person or country who starts a fight.
alien
Something or someone from a different place.
artifact
Something from a different time in history that can be studied.
assembly
A group of people meeting together. US citizens have a "right to assembly" under the constitution.
