-In 1828 Most Men over 21 could vote(Didn't need to own property)

SPOILS SYSTEM

-A system established by Jackson where he would appoint people who supported him or campaigned for him to public offices regardless of qualifications


-He would limit offices to 1 term and would rotate them


-Argued this helped more common people hold public offices

-Before Jackson the "Kin Caucus" would nominate people for offices

-All States except SC started the system in which the voters got to Choose the State Electoral Voters


-Allowed for a System in which the Electoral Voters would vote the way the state did
