Primary and Secondary Goals

What is a primary goal?

It initiates the process/conversation. An example would include changing the status of a relationship, or having a productive sex talk with a young teenager.

What is a secondary goal?

It is more specific than a primary goal. For example, a secondary goal would be having a productive sex talk with a teenager that discusses safe sex practices in depth.

What can primary and secondary goals be?

Compatible, Incompatible, And Irrelevant.

what does it mean when primary/secondary goals are compatible?

it means that they complement each other.

it means they do not work with each other.

it means that they don't have anything to do with each other and for that reason, do not work.
