Gnosticism
The body is evil, the soul is good. Christ was merely the Holy Spirit inhabiting a body. This leads to Docetism.
Pantheism
Belief that Creation and God are Ontologically related. Creation is divine, God is completely eminent. This leads to Docetism.
Deism
Intelligent creator has no direct relationship with God. God is transcendent over creation, winds up the world like a clock and watches it run, no interference.
Herminuetical Circle
To read the chapter in light of the paragraph, and the paragraph in the light of the chapter. To read the part in light of the whole and the whole in light of the part.
Kingdom of God
God's people in God's place enjoying His rule and blessings.
Total Depravity
Idea we are born originally sinful or corrupted. All acts have a tinge of selfishness and evil. We are corrupted, an absence of innocence.
Modalism
God of 3 are one. Not 3 people, one person appearing at different times. Can be disproved by when Jesus is baptized and the Father and H.S. are there.
Kenosis
Literally means emptied. Christ emptied himself of all divinity and became truly man.
