Unicameral bone cyst?
A simple bone cyst in the metaphysis of proximal humerus or femur.

Generally in patients <20 yo.
Fibroxanthoma?
A very common abnormal proliferation of fibrous tissue in long bones of children.

Associated with pathological fracture if:

1. size is >50% of diaphysis diameter.
2. longitudinally >22 mm.
Fibrous dysplasia?
Replacement of medullary bone with fibrous tissue. Commonly involves facial or cranial bones.
Eosinophilic granuloma?
AKA: hisitocytosis X, Langerhan histiocytosis.

Painful bone swelling, skull > long bones.

Can infiltrate lymph nodes, bone marrow. Therefore associated with pancytopenia, skin lesions, splenomegaly, lymphadenopathy.
Osteosarcoma?
Most common primary bone tumor.

Usually found in metaphysis of long bones, most commonly around the knee.

Presents classically with bone pain that is worse at night.
Ewing's Sarcoma?
Disease of teenage males, commonly of pelvis and proximal tubular bones.

Criteria for risk of fracture. Summation of site, pain, lesion type, size. If >7, prohpylactic internal fixation.

1 - upper arm
2 - lower extremity
3 - peritrochanteric

Pain:
1 - mild
2 - moderate
3 - severe

Lesion:
1 - blastic
2 - mixed
3 - lytic

1 - <1/3 diameter of bone
2 - 1/3 - 2/3 diameter of bone
3 - >1/3 diameter of bone
