Cause of Cold War
Russia, US, France, and Britain had troops in Germany and the surrounding area to help the countries to recover. They agreed to withdraw troops so the countries could govern themselves, but Russia didn't withdraw
The Start of Communism
Karl Marx wrote a book "Manifesto" describing a perfect world were people or countries didn't own the land they would just take what they needed and everyone would share everything. No private property. Nickoli Lennon was the first to rule his country by communism. Everyone got the same pay no matter how hard you worked, and you had little rights and opinions.
Parliamentary and Multiparty Systems
Parliamentary- The president or head of state has little power more of a symbolic leader. The prime minister has the most power and is the leader of the political party who has the most seats in Parliament.

Multiparty- two major parties are usually stronger than the others. Though in some countries there are only many little parties that rule together(coalition)
West Germany and East Germany Reunites
East Germany's government collapsed and they had little economic stability. When West Germany reunited with East Germany they had to heavily tax West Germans to support East Germany and to provide welfare.
Germany's recovery
The causes of Germany's Recovery:
Germany's capita income rose more than it had on 150 years(so a lot).
Germany's citizens were more skilled and educated, they had technology from WWII, they had help from the Marshal Plan, and they had a diverse economy and didn't rely on one recourse.
The European Union

European nations pooled their coal and steal resources and abolished tariffs on these goods
