Soviets

Bolshevik slogan in 1917. Called for an immediate end to Russia's participation to the war. Land for peasants and bread for everyone.

Alexander Kerensky

Leader of the provisional government after the Czars abdication. Part of the Mensheviks.

The Russian Civil War 1918-1921

The Bolsheviks won this civil war. They had an effective secret police. They were better organized. The Soviets are able to get control of the country creating the Soviet Union under a dictatorship.
