* Stops bleeding:
for external bleeding associated with traumatic injury, & various forms of internal bleeding ((*)uterine bleeding, vomiting blood, nosebleed, coughing blood, bloody urine, bloody stool, or subcutaneous bleeding). This herb is has an astringent nature & is very effective for stopping bleeding.
(*) Most commonly used for gynecological bleeding.

- Invigorates the blood & dispels blood stasis:
for menstrual pain, post partum pain, & chest pain from blood stasis.

All kinds of bleeding (coughing blood, vomiting blood, nosebleed, bleeding gums, bloody urine, uterine bleeding) especially coughing blood. This herb can be used for bleeding due to heat, cold, excess, or deficiency

- Alleviates diarrhea & dysenteric disorders: use for chronic problems only as this herb has a restraining nature.

- Kills parasites:
Trichomonas vaginitis & tapeworm

A&I:
* Stops bleeding & transforms blood stasis(invigorates blood):
Very widely used because it can stop bleeding without cause blood stasis. Effective in invigorating blood, it is used for chest & abdominal pain, as well as joint pain that has been caused by blood stasis.

- Reduces swelling & alleviates pain: the herb of choice for traumatic injuries.

C&C:
- Pregnancy
- Blood or Yin Deficiency

Dosage: up to 3g when taken directly as powder, up to 9 when used in decoctions.

A&I:
* Restrains leakage of blood & stops bleeding:

sores, ulcers, especially chronic, non-healing ulcers.

A&I:
* Cools the blood & stops bleeding: widely used for various bleeding disorders. Owing to its slightly cold nature, this herb is effectively used in treating patterns of hot blood, but it may also be used with warming herbs for bleeding associated with cold patterns.

- Stops coughing & expels phlegm

- Promotes healing of burns: use topically in powdered form for the early stages of burns over a small to moderate surface area.

C&C:
- Long term ingestion or a large dose may cause dizziness, nausea, &/or vomiting.
