-D & H make each other worse and dh tends to lingers in the body and become difficult to expel. -D and h have their own characteristics, but when they combine they can present as contradictory symptoms. -Dh easily interferres with the MJ and can cause poor appetite, epigastric fullness, abdominal distention, nausea, ect. |

If is in the body long enough the heat can turn to fire, which concentrates the damp further and they become toxic -Dh easily damages the sp and st -Dh easily blocks the TE qi mechanism by separating yuan qi & aiding zhong qi, qui qi and jing qi as it flows through the zangfu -Dh easily influences fld metabolism -Dh can enter the bld and easily obstruct the channels and collaterals -Dh can easily create phlegm |

low grade fever –red face and skin, but not hot, afternoon fever-heat built up in the yangming channels which are influenced more in the afternoon, chest obstruction and stuffiness, thirst with no desire to drink, poor appetite , heavy feeling in body, scanty dark difficult urination, loose but difficult passage of stool –tenesmus, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distention, thick greasy tongue coating
