Name all 8 of the carpal bones from lateral to medial for the proximal ones, and lateral to medial for the distal ones
scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform (sesamoid),

Hamate, capitate, trapezoid, trapezium
Does the head of the ulna articulate with the wrist bones?
No, the head of the ulna does not articulte with wrist bones. It has a wedge shaped fibrocartilage disc between it and the bones of the wrist.
The radius articulates with what wrist bones?

The articular disc articulates with what bones?

Where is the capsule of the wrist joint attached?
Radius - articulates with scaphoid and lunate.

Articular disc with lunate and triquetral
What is a colles fracture? ( what can happen to the ulnar?)

How does it differ from a Smith's fracture?
Fracture of the distal radius resulting in dorsal displacement of distal radius. Gives dinner fork deformity. Ulnar styloid process may be avulsed.
(caused by a fall on an outstretched hand)

Smith's fracture - anterior displacement of distal end of the radius.
Radial artery - branch of what? lies deep to which muscle before then emerging to which side of it? i

At wrist lies lateral to what muscle?

Runs posteriorly to which anatomical structure?
Lies deep to brachoradialis. Then emerges medial to brachioradialis, and at wrist lies lateral to the flexor carpi radialis tendon.

Then runs posterior to anatomical snuffbox
Ulnar Artery runs beneath which muscles ? passes beneath which muscle with the ulnar nerve. At wrist lies lateral to what muscle?
Gives off a brach called what?
Runs beneath pronator teres and flexor digitorum superficialis. passes beneath flexor carpi unlaris with ulnar nerve. At wrist lies lateral to flexor carpi ulnaris. Gives off a common interosseous artery.
What is the allen's test?
Used to check the palmar anastomes between ulnar and radial arteries.
Used to see wether radial artery is ok to cannulate.
What supplies the cutaenous inervation of the lateral and medial sides of the forearm?
Lateral cutaneous nerve of forearm is from musculocutaneous nerve continuation.

Medial cutaneous nerve is from brachial plexus Medial Cord.
