Plasmas

Plasmas are like gases but are very hot and made up of free electrons and ions.

Bose-Einstein Condensate

The Bose-Einstein Condensate is the total opposite of Plasmas, they are super unexcited and very cold. The BEC happens at low temp, absolute 0.

Distillation

Allows us to collect pure water vapor(H2O) leaving behind water impurities.

Mixtures

All gas & liquid solutions are clear, if a liquid looks murky or opaque its a mechanical mixture. (Can be separated by distillation or filtration)

Alloys

When 2 or more metals are mixed together, the resulting is called an alloy. (ex;White Gold)

Element

An element is a substance that contains 1 type of atom (ex;Gold). Its already in its purest form.

Phase Changes

Melting=Solid to Liquid

Evaporation=Liquid to Gas

Solidification=Liquid to Solid

Condensation=Gas to Liquid

Sublimation=Directly Solid to Gas

Deposition=Directly Gas to Solid

Ionization=Directly Gas to Plasma

Recombination=Directly Plasma to Gas

Molecules&Compounds

A molecule is formed by 2 atom joined chemically. A compound is a molecule with at least 2 different elements. (All compounds are molecules but not all molecules are compounds)

Physical Properties

Any property that can be observed or measured with out the formation of a new substance.

Chemical Properties

Describes the ability of a substance to undergo change to produce a new substance. Includes; Stability, Reactivity, Flammability, Oxidation, and Toxicity.
