additive identity property

For every number a,

The set of all first coordinates from the ordered pairs in a relation.


equation

A mathematical sentence that contains an equal sign.


evaluate

To find the value of an expression when the values of the variables are known.


exponent

The number 5 in the expression x⁵.


factors

The quantities being multiplied in a multiplication expression.


function

A relation in which each element of the domain is paired with exactly one element of the range.


horizontal axis

The line in a graph that represents the independent variable.
