Organism
Trace Fossil
Fossiled eviendce of where they lived
Chemical Fossil

Chemical
Fossilzation Process
Removal of remains from scavengers ( Rapid burial or burial in toxic substances). Early Replacement, Chemical Stabilization-hard parts of organism
Orignal Preservation
Skeleton with little or no alteration (teeth, hair, etc)
Recrystallization
Shells( made of calcite[ca63] recrystallize into calcate. Due to pressure of fluids, the minerals "regrow". Fine Details are erased
Replacement
Confused with Recrystallization. Replaces one mineral with a new mineral. Replacing the whole mineral mean the fine details remain.
Permineralization
Miner-rich ground water seeps into the pre-space of a fossil filling the material inside. Wood and Bone are commonly preserved this way.
Carbonization
Remains are preserved as film of carbon. Look black, and are darker than the rock itself. Common on flatter surface and fine details.
Casts and Molds
Plastic=Cast
