WHY I CHOSE THIS AUTHOR
I chose Gary Paulsen because I read a book of his called Hatchet and I loved it. Then I read a bunch of others.

*I like his books because he writes about survival stories from a kids point of view. The series I read was about a boy name Brian. Brian goes through many adventures and has to survive the wilderness.

Gary Paulsen learned to write about survival in the wilderness through his own experiences. He lived in he country in Minnesota where he grew up.
BOOKS
Gary Paulsen has written more than 175 books and over 200 articles and short stories.

Some of his books are (and the series I read): Hatchet, The River, Brian's Return, Brian's Hunt and Brian's Winter.

*He won the Newbery Award for my favorite book, Hatchet and for Dogsong and The Winter Room.

*All his books follow a pattern of nature and adventure.
