Early Life
Born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar in Gujarat, I was named Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a name to be known throughout the world. I was very successful in school, and managed to become a lawyer in practice. I then returned to India, then was transferred to Durban, South Africa, for business.
Struggles and Obstacles
There, I encountered something disgusting and strange. I recall it was descrimination. My struggle started here, for the rights of Indians. Some of my accomplishments were awesome, but most of them preceded in violence. My struggles caused the Amritsar Massacre, which was tragic on my behalf.
Contributions and Accomplishments
I was a very successful lawyer, breaking through that barrier of color. I enacted many satyagrahas (ways to correct wrongdoing), and in turn, many people followed these. In fact, thousands. I also sparked consideration in Pakistan and India, though in vain, because I was shot.
Interesting Facts
In my early childhood, I wasn't the outspoken man I was. In fact, I was so shy that I ran from my school to my home, because I couldn't bear talking to anyone. I also loved walking, because it was good for me. Another thing was when I had a radio broadcast sent into the U.S., the first thing I said was "Do I have to speak into this thing?"
I would like to thank....
I would like to thank my supporters, who were so supportive of me, and the South African government, which cooperated with me.
I would want to be remembered....
I would like to be remembered just in people's mind, because the mind itself holds the greatest impression. So nothing much, all right?
