There is a great number of people who are well off, including the upper class and some of the growing middle class. As they are not spending their money/investing in the poor no money is getting to the poor so increasing the gap between the rich and the poor |

Keeping people in poverty as they are from a young age forced into child labour. So then they have no time to be able to get an education. Also i lack of social welfare so unable to support people- job, health care etc. |

Manufacturing in Mumbai is on the decrease as it has become so ineffective. So the informal sector of work (low paid and not rights) is decreasing so less poor people in work- increasing gap aswell as due to increase in the service sector as more and more investment- giving the rich the jobs |

In the informal work place people have no rights, low pay, no health and safety so not only will they be on a low wage so have no disposable income but when they get injured they will have no support and maybe not be able to work again so effecting the standard of living |
