Fuel pumps are powered by which system?
Fuel pumps are AC powered
How is fuel supplied in the event that normal electrical fuel pump power is lost? Which tanks is suction feed available from?
Fuel pumps provide suction feeding in the event that normal electrical power is lost.
Suction feed is available from Main tanks 1 & 2 only. (NO CENTRE TANK SUCTION FEED !)
Eninge shutoff valve and spar shut off valve is powered by which system, off which bus?
Both valves are operated b y the DC system and powered by the hot battery bus
Explain how fuel is prioritised from centre tank first.
The centre tank pumps produce a higher pressure than main tank pumps allowing fuel form the centre tank to be used first
Fuel for the APU is provide from which tank? If AC fuel pumps are not operating how is this fuel supplied?
Fuel for the APU comes from Main tank 1 and is supplied by AC powered fuel pump.
If the pump is not available, suction feeding is provided.
When does the scavenge pump work for centre tank and how long does it work for?
The scavenge pump operates once the Main tanks are about half (approx 1900kgs). Once the pump starts it continues for the whole flight.
In which tank does the fuel from the scavenge pump go?
Main tank 1
Where is the fuel temp measured and what are the limits?
Fuel temp is measured in Main tank 1.

Max +49 C

Min
-43 C (NG)
Max capacity useable fuel in each tank and total (0.79 SG)?
Main tank - 3900kg
Centre tank - 12900kg
Total - 20700kg
Explain LOW fuel indication
LOW indication occurs when either main tank is below 907kg. It is displayed untill quantity incrases to 1134kg
Explain CONFIG indication
CONFIG indication occurs with quantity greater then 726kg in centre tank and engine running, centre tanks pumps off or low psi. Inhibited when centre tank quantity is < 363kg
Explain IMBAL indication
IMBAL indication occurs when main tanks differ by 453kg or more. It is displayed until imbalance is reduced to 91kg. Inhibited on the ground or by LOW fuel indication.
