Stomach

Receives food from the esophagus, through the cardiac valve: Mixes it with gastric juice to produce chyme; pepsin begins protein digestion; sends mixture to the small intestine, through pyloric valve.

Large intestine

Reabsorbs water, and eliminates solid digestive wastes.

Small Intestine

Final organ of digestion; gets enzymes from the pancreas, and bile from the gallbladder: digested food enters the blood stream through the villi.

Pancreas

Sends enzymes to the small intestine for final digestion of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins.

Gall Bladder

Stores bile made in the liver, and breaks up fat into smaller pieces.

Liver

Filters waste out of bloodstream, and produces bile.

Lungs

Allows for the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the alveoli and the bloodstream.
