Nile river
-Egypt is located on the Nile river.
-Nile begins in the highlands of Ethiopia with two branches: White
Nile and the Blue Nile.

-These two rivers unite and flow north
where they empty into the Mediterranean sea.
-Where the rivers empties into the Nile it forms the Nile Delta, a rich area of alluvial soil.

the ancestors(China)
the ancestors were seen as a link between the present world and the spiritual world. They could bring good fortune or bad fortune to a family. Offerings of food and drink were offered to them.

A way to communicate with the ancestors. Animal bonds were carved with question, then heated or broken. A priest then interpreted the breaks.

Hindus believe that the soul never dies. believe in reincarnation.being born into a higher or lower cast depends on ones karma. Darhma=rules.

meaning:"the land between the rivers."The oldest civilization was found in the region between the Tigris and Euphrates River in what is now Iraq.

This area was part of the Fertile Cresent. A fertile arc of land from the eastern coast of the mediterranean sea, through Mesopatamia, to the persian Gulf(Arabian Gulf)
The ziggurat(the most important building in the city state)
The ziggurat was a massive stepped tower with a temple in the top of it. The temples were also made of mud bricks. The top layers of th bricks were baked in ovens so they could hold up to weather. The bottom layers were baked in the sun and coated with tar.
