All Ceramic Indications?
-Short spans (4units) in anterior regions and 3 units in posterior
-When pt. has allergy to metallic components of PFM FPDs
-When pt. demands no metal alloys in prostheses
All Ceramic Contraindications?
-FPD spans greater than 4 units in the anterior or 3 units in the posterior
-Bruxers
-Occlusion related cervical wear
-Pt. with large pulp chambers (young pt)
-Abutment teeth w/ compromised retention and resistance form
Describe the preparation of #22?
-Find a common path of draw,
-Stay away from functional occlusal stripe
-Check functional occlusion, and clearancde prior to removing the functional stripe
-Due to short cingulum wall simply marginate it (no depth cuts needed)
-Viet prep from the lingual aspect and ensure parallelism of the mesial and distal walls
Likelihood of being sued by a patient is
-Once in every six practice years
To establish path of draw coincident with #22- place depth cut as needed; but recommend what?
-Prepare the axial surface prior to preparing the occlusal surface in order to get the correct path
Why should you prep tooth #22 first?
-To establish the functional occlusion
Define the preparation parameter for an all ceramic crown?
-Interproximals (1.5-1.8 mm)
-Occlusal clearance (2.0 mm)
-1.0-1.5 mm lingual fossa reduction
-Heavy chamfer or shoulder margin
-Short cingulum so prep must be parallel.
