Fire Extinguishers

At least one 2A:10BC for every 3000 sq ft. with a maximum 75' travel distance between.

Class K Extinguishers

Shall be provided within 30' of commercial-type food heat-processing equipment.


• Extinguishing systems for commercial cooking equipment shall be serviced & tagged at least every 6 months.

Sprinkler Systems

• Where a sprinkler system or automatic extinguishing system is in place, such system shall be serviced & tagged annually.

Standpipe Systems

Shall be flow-tested & tagged every 5 years.

Egress Doors

Such doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when servicing any hazardous area, or when occupancy exceeds 50 people.

Means of Egress

• Illumination of Means of Egress is provided in Sect. 14.12.


• Exit Access: Shall include only designated stairs, aisles, corridors, ramps, escalators & passageways leading to an exit.


• Exit Discharge: Includes only designated stairs, aisles, corridors, ramps, escalators, walkways & exit passages leading to a public way.


• Means of egress shall be illuminated when building/structure is occupied.
