The cavity inferior to the diaphragm
Abdominal Cavity
Superior part of the Abdominopelvic Cavity.
Pelvic Cavity
The inferior part of the Abdominopelvic Cavity.
Umbilical Region
The centermost region, deep to and surrounding the umbilicus (navel)
Epigastric Region
Locatd superior to the umbilical region (epi=above; gastric=stomach)
Hypogastric (pubic) Region
Inferior to the umbilical region. (hypo=below)
Right and Left iliac (or inguinal) regions
are lateral to the hypogastric region (iliac=superior part of the hip bone)
Right and Left Lumbar Regions
Lie Lateral to the umbilical Region (lumbus=loin)
Right and Left Hypochondrian Regions
Flank the epigastric Region and contain the lower ribs (chondro=cartilage)
Right Upper Quandrant
Upper right section of the stomach
Left upper Quandrant
