Tim- Biological implications.

Anabolic steroids are currently legal in Australia, but are only used to treat very specific diseases, (lack of testosterone, weight-loss caused by HIV/AIDS). However, pose a threat if used other then by a prescription from a doctor.

a

Introduction to the health gap.

What it is?

How does it affect people here in Queensland?
How will perception steroids affect this? (cost of steroids)

Also what other diseases should be allowed to use the steroids?

A

Health gap is present all over the world and is a serious issue that the WHO puts a lot of time and resources into fixing allowing equal medical opportunities, rather than leaving a health gap between races/classes/political views.

A

The health gap is a massive negative for the legalization of steroid use for muscular and skeletal deterioration. As it would segregate, those who could not afford to be health from those who could. Which is unethical as healthcare and medication should never be based on the depth of your wallet.

A

Introduction to returning independence to the elderly and ill.

Why do they suffer currently?
How can the steroids help return their independence?
How does this effect other aspects of their life (reduces likelihood of depression, and increases social interaction.

AAA

Through the use of anabolic steroids, it is very likely that we would be able to return a sense of independence to the lives of those suffering from a muscle deficiency/deterioration. Allowing them to do basic household tasks, and take care of themselves if they cannot afford carers. ( especially the case in the elderly.)

A

By increasing their muscle capacity, patients of the treatment will begin to feel more competent and less of a burden on others. According the the competence motivational theory, they are more likely to be positive and less likely to under-estimate themselves. (may be an incentive for them to begin exercising to speed up the muscle building process.)

A

The social factors that can be contributed to both the pros and cons of anabolic steroid use are widely debated and hold no definite answer. The key to creating an alternate solution to these problems, will begin by understanding the different opinions surrounding this topic and the reasons behind them.
