Equinox

What they are
An equinox is day in which the length of the day and night are equal. The two equinoxes each year occur on 21 March and 23 September, when the Sun is directly above the equator.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the Autumnal Equinox occurs on 21 March, and the Spring Equinox (Vernal Equinox) occurs on 23 September. These dates are reversed for the Northern hemisphere due to the seasons being opposite to those in the Southern hemisphere.
