•Direct alpha adrenergic receptor stimulation
o Increased systemic vascular resistance resulting in increased BP
•Direct beta adrenergic receptor stimulation
o Positive inotropic effects increasing cardiac contractile force
o Positive chronotropic effects increasing heart rate
o Positive dromotropic effects increasing automaticity (converting fine v-fib into course v-fib) and increasing myocardial electrical activity (possibly converting asystole rhythms)

• Epinephrine 1:1,000 (more alpha adrenergic stimulation)
o Allergic Reaction
o Respiratory Distress
o Pediatric Respiratory Distress
• Epinephrine 1:10,000 (both alpha and beta adrenergic stimulation)
o Cardiac Arrest
o Refractory Anaphylaxis (IV 1:10,000)
o Pediatric Bradycardia
o Pediatric Cardiac Arrest
